I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread that I give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:51)

Did you notice that statement? Did you see the content of it? He’s not saying that you feed on something given by Him, you don’t feed on a miracle worked by Him, you don’t feed on you don’t feed on a provision that He has given, you don’t feed on an angel that He has sent. Who feeds on me? He leads us to feed on Himself, who feeds on me, it is Christ who completes us. Those sheep went to the pasture and ate and ate until they were satisfied until they were complete until they were full until they were satisfied.

What Is He Trying to Teach Here?

He’s teaching the church that there’s nothing else that’s going to complete your life, there’s nothing else that’s going to satisfy your method, no means, only Christ can satisfy you. Satisfaction, only Jesus can bring to us, when that happens the soul becomes full, full means what? It means that if you put wheat in a storehouse and it’s already full, you can’t fit any more wheat in it, it’s already full if you put water in a jar full of water, it doesn’t need any more water, it’s already full, the same thing for those who are full of Christ, they don’t need cocaine, they don’t need nicotine, they don’t need illicit sex, they don’t need illicit relationships, they don’t need alcohol, they don’t need pornography, they don’t need lies, they don’t need sin, they don’t need anything. And why is that? Because by eating Christ we are satisfied, we are filled, we are satiated.

“Do you understand the direction the Holy Spirit wants to take your faith and your Christianity? Do you understand?”

For many years we’ve fed on junk, garbage, and the world, but when we come to Christ, we’ve only reached a stage, where we begin to feed on what Christ gives and what Christ does. And this is the great evil of today’s church, of the modern church, it has the things of Christ as its backbone, as a crutch, and not Christ! We feed on Christ’s miracles, we feed on Christ’s blessings, we feed on what He can give and what He can do, but that’s not what He taught, He said: he who feeds on me shall live by me.

We have to feed on Him, I am the living bread he said: in John 10 what did he say about the parable of the good shepherd? Moses gave you bread in the desert, but whoever eats that bread will hunger again. Now I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever feeds on me will not hunger!

Now who sent the bread to Egypt? Who materialized the bread that was sent into the desert for the people to eat? Wasn’t it God? So why wouldn’t it satisfy their hunger? Because something given by God wouldn’t satisfy the hunger, the bread provided by God, whoever eats of it will be hungry again, whoever depends on God’s operations will be hungry, whoever depends on God’s miracles will be hungry, whoever depends on God’s things will be hungry. now whoever depends on God, whoever eats of Jesus, will no longer be hungry.

The problem with Christians today is that they like the church, they like the praise, they like the miracle, the blessing, the answer, but they don’t like the Savior, the Lord of their soul, as John Wesley, the Captain of our salvation, said.

Today’s church, the modern church, needs to eat of Christ.
