The spiritual world, namely Christianity, is under various discussions about the guardian symbol of international peace and security that was installed in the United Nations Plaza in New York.

A handmade piece of Mexican origin, it is causing discussions in social networks and evangelical groups because of its resemblance. The “Guardian of International Peace and Security” is similar to a leopard, but has bear-like feet and lion-like mouth; just as the text in Revelation 13:2 states that: “The beast which I saw was like a leopard, but it had feet like the feet of a bear and a mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power, his throne, and great authority.

Was the Guardian of international peace and security installed in the United Nations plaza a beast? Was it a statue created to fulfill a Bible prophecy? Is the monument a provocation to Christians? Should Christians be concerned about this UN symbol?

The Apostle Paul warns us saying, “Do not despise prophecy. (1 Thessalonians 5:20)

Whereas the Apostle John says, “Search the scriptures.” (John 5:39)

If the beast that the apostle John saw is similar to a leopard but had feet like those of a bear and mouth like that of a lion. Similar to this image, we should not take isolated texts to defend an argument. What we should do is examine the scriptures to know where this situation stands and come to an effective conclusion.

1. The first thing Christians should know is that the creature in the UN plaza is a beast, but not the one described in the book of Revelation despite the resemblance.

We cannot simply take a statue that was designed with the appearances of a prophetic symbol, by an influential entity in the world, as the end of prophecy. The prophecies of the apocalypse are understood 5% as it is read and 95% are not understood as we are reading.

2. Whether the statue-shaped beast was built to fulfill Bible prophecy, no one knows. But what Christians should do is investigate the purpose of the construction of a monster similar to the one that was implanted in the square, to symbolize peace, knowing that such monsters in nature symbolize a threat to mankind, because they are carnivorous and ferocious animals.

So before jumping to a hasty conclusion, we should first analyze through Christian and scientific research.

3. Is the monument a provocation to Christians?

Well, from what we have been hearing about the speculations of the end times, concerning the greatest character that represents evil, which is the antichrist; and that many Christians for many years have associated the UN as one of the sources of the provenance of the antichrist, perhaps for some Christians it is a provocation, but for me, it is not a provocation to Christians, for a very simple reason: “Luke 22:37: For I assure you that what is written, ‘And he was numbered with the transgressors,’ must be fulfilled in me. Yes, what is written about me is about to be fulfilled.”

What was the son of God saying?

Christ was saying that it was necessary that the things described in the Bible be fulfilled, even if it is in very explicit ways or not, they must be fulfilled, this is no reason to feel disappointment with institutions or people, it is time to know that anything can happen to anyone or in any institution. We are in the time of the end, any institution or citizen at this moment can be fulfilling a prophecy, and this must be accepted, not as a provocation, but as a direct fulfillment of what was written about the master.

4. Should Christians be concerned about this symbol of the UN?

No, Christians have nothing to worry about. What Christians should do now is to look at Jesus, the author and finisher of the faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

Prophecy-like symbols will begin to appear more and more in the last times, so Christians should be pushing ahead. Keep diligent and ready for what is coming, because this is nothing.
